The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood (John 1:14, The Message).
Love your neighbor (Leviticus 19:18; Luke 10:27).
The season of Lent is upon us.* We celebrate Lent because we celebrate Easter. Lent is about getting ready for Easter. It is about wrenching ourselves from the day-to-day routine of life to do some spiritual, inner “spring cleaning,” so to speak.
So because of this the Church throughout time does things differently in Lent. We let go of things. So that we can embrace holy things. On the cross, Jesus’ arms are outstretched—a sign of embrace to us. Will we drop our petty distractions and accept the invitation.
This Lenten season, we challenge you to go further. Download the 5 Houses / 4 Meals brochure and/or the devotional guide and let God move in and through you as we take this 40-day journey.
