Junior High Sunday School

  • Sundays | 9:30 a.m. | Youth Wing
6th Grade (Confirmation)
  • Teaching Team: Brad Camp & Samantha Decker

Confirmation is a time for connecting, allowing you to connect the dots of your faith journey and "making firm" all that has taken place in your spiritual formation so far. Confirmation also allows you to connect with other students and build relationships in the body of Christ. 6th grade Sunday school will cover material for confirmation, but also focus on growing strong community.

7th Grade Girls
  • Teaching Team: Jenny Giovi, Jennifer Dalton, Amanda Morris, Lydia DeJarnette, Amy Castleberry

7th Grade is the time we begin exploring what it means to be a woman of God. Young women are surrounded by messages of how they should act and who they are and they don’t always line up with what God intended. In the spring, they go through the book “Captivating” which discusses how God designed their heart and how the fall has skewed it in an effort to recapture what God intended. At the end of the semester, they combine with the 7th Grade Boys and discuss David and learn how they can be leaders in our church, their home, their school, and throughout all areas of their life.

7th Grade is the time we begin exploring what it means to be a man of God. Young men are surrounded by messages of how men should be and how they are to act and they don’t always line up with what God intended. In the spring, we go through the book “Wild at Heart” which discusses how God has designed their heart and how the fall has skewed it in an effort to recapture what God intended. At the end of the semester, they combine with the 7th Grade Girls and discuss David and learn how they can be leaders in our church, their home, their school, and throughout all areas of their life.

8th Grade
  • Teaching Team: Eric & Susan Phillips

We are diving deep into what the Bible says about identity, choices, relationships, and love; as shown in 1 Corinthians 13 and Psalm 139. The goal of this class is to explore how real love makes a difference in real life. The Spring focuses a lot off application as interactive programming focuses on receiving the love of God, reflecting that love, and reaching others with His love.
